Tara Lawall is Chief Creative Officer at Rethink New York, a 2-time published author, and a screenwriter.
As a leader, Tara is most passionate about mining for creative brilliance in the people around her and making great ideas happen. She believes there is always a way if you have a strong team of creative problem solvers, a little stamina, and a lot of hope.
This combination has helped her lead teams to consistently make work for brands that is effective and wins awards. She’s created globally awarded work at all the major shows; One Show, D&AD, London International Awards, Art Directors Club, Clios, Cannes - including a Titanium Lion. Her work has also been included in the Advertising and Editorial Art permanent collection at the MoMa.
Her love of collaborating with incredible creative people extends outside of advertising and she always has multiple projects in the works. Her first book, “This Little Piggy Went to Market in the City,” a children’s parody book she created with Rich Greco, came out in June 2021. Her second book, “There are Too Many Milks” an adult humor book she co-wrote with Anne Marie Wonder, came out in March 2023. Her first short film Retirement Plan, co-written and directed by Johnny Kelly premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in July 2024. It will also will be playing at SXSW in March 2025.
She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Jeremy, two kids, Cora and Rhett, and forty indoor plants.
